The SAW Housing Stability Workgroup continues to take meaningful steps toward strengthening housing security in our region. One key effort underway is the creation of a list of skilled tradespeople—plumbers, electricians, roofers, and more—who are willing to volunteer their time for critical home repairs. This initiative will launch publicly in the coming weeks, with sign-up locations and links shared soon.
The Housing Resource Guide remains active and is gaining traction across the region. Thanks to recent media coverage, traffic to the online guide has doubled, with 221 total visits and 199 unique users from February through early March. To make the guide even more user-friendly, the group is developing a digital decision tree—a beta version is already in place, and an updated version is expected to go live soon.
Meanwhile, the Education Subcommittee is crafting a campaign to dispel five common myths about homelessness through audio and video storytelling. Community members interested in contributing to this effort are encouraged to reach out.
The Resources Subcommittee continues to lead the tradesperson sign-up project and is making progress on logistics and partnerships. Their goal is to launch a living, evolving document by this summer.
Finally, work is underway on a new Eviction Guide—more details will be shared as development continues.
